Nintendo Explains The Wii Zapper

So Nintendo sent around this amusing little E-mail advertising its new Wii Zapper. Gotta love the fresh-faced models they always photograph playing with Nintendo products. And I enjoy how there's always one having fun playing, and another who always looks like they've never seen anything quite so amazing as they await their turn.
It's hilarious to me that they feel the need to describe this accessory in so much detail. Their description claims that the Zapper "unites your Wii Remote and Nunchuck (each sold separately) to create an experience like no other." What could this experience possibly be? Why, you can "steer your character's movement using the Control Stick on your Nunchcuck as you zap your way to victory with your Wii Remote." Wait. You mean like every other Wii shooter game released thus far? That amuses me almost as much as the descriptions of the games that claimed to be optimized for the Wii Zapper. You don't have to program for it. It's just a piece of vaguely gun-shaped plastic that you insert your Wiimote and Nunchuck into. The only difference it makes is how you hold the controllers.
Seriously, though, for $20, you also get Link's Crossbow Training, which looks like it's probably worth the money in and of itself. Still, I doubt that I'd ever use the Zapper. I'm too lazy. I've gotten used to leaving my hands down comfortably at my sides while I navigate and shoot. The Zapper just doesn't look as comfortable to hold. But hey, those girls look like they're having a great time, don't they?

O RLY? Like your average American needs to know how to work a gu... er, a zapper.
i got this in an email lol
Oh, screw the zapper. I just want my lightsaber remote/nunchuck caddy and a REAL lightsaber game from LucasArts!!
Yeah, I'm thinking I'm just gonna get Crossbow Training used for 10 bucks and play it the same way I played Zelda... only with a crossbow instead of a normal bow, I guess.
I keep seeing the Wii Zapper with Link's Crossbow Training at $25 in stores and in ads... Am I missing some deals??
That zapper is really quite horrible.
Yeah, you mentioned my favorite aspect of the Wii controller which people often overlook. It isn't the motion sensing or the increasingly absurd add-ons for people with no common sense (wrist strap! new and improved heavy duty wrist strap!!! awkward, bulky, and ugly protective sleeve thing!??). No, it is the ability to play a game with your hands comfortably at your sides. Ahh, what luxury.
Keith, those of us who mention getting it for 10 bucks are referring to used copies of the game without the Zapper. I've already seen two still-shrinkwrapped copies for that price on Half, though they went fast.
