Half Of You Own Halo 3

Okay, so everybody knows that Halo is popular. Like, crazy popular. Like, more popular than Brooke McQueen and Mary Cherry combined. When Halo 3 launched back in September, it sold over three million units, and has now sold over five million units worldwide.
But when you really break down the math, it gets more interesting. Apparently, 4.1 million copies of Halo 3 have been sold in the United States, and there are 7.9 million Xbox 360s out there to play them on. Which means that 52% of all 360 owners also own a copy of Halo 3. Wow.
This is all good news for Microsoft and all, but I have to admit that I am a proud member of the other 48%. I never quite fell under Master Chief's spell. Not sure why. Too much shooter, not enough story, I suppose. So which side of the fence do you all fall on?

Halo 3's story is terrible, but it's besides the point. I never thought of Halo's campaign as much more than a nice supplement to the real purpose of the game, the multiplayer. Halo 3 multiplayer is like a video game sport. It is essentially generic, but it has been refined so precisely with such balance and multitude of options that it is an archetype, like Monopoly is to board games.
I played the first 2, but never fell in love with this series.
Passed on this one. It's sort of the gamer equivalent of "Bridge and Tunnel", isn't it?
Halo 3 was a let-down. I really liked the first game's story. Halo 2's story was much more nuanced but the gameplay pissed me off. Halo 3 used every character as a one dimensional plot device and its gameplay has only changed a little from Halo 2.
Halo 3 is a pretty decent game. I have played worse, but I am happy my brother bought it b/c I would be pissed if I blew 60 bucks on it.
No, I don't own a copy of Spawn-and-Die III.
I tried playing the original Halo back in the day but didn't like it at all. I haven't tried the second and third installments, but I can't imagine they'd be dramatically different at their cores from #1.
I first played halo solo on a PC - that was quite boring and I didn't get far. Later, on my 360 and in Co-Op it turned out to be much more enjoyable. Halo 2 is in my mailbox (literally, lost the bloody key), and halo 3 needs to drop a bit in price so I can afford it.
Oh my god, you just referenced Popular. I love you.
I love Halo so much. I played over 5,000 online Halo 2 matches. I have over 700 online Halo 3 matches so far, despite playing a LOT of other games too.
I have just always loved the feel and pace of the game, and (apologies to my boyfriend in advance) plasma grenades might be my favorite thing in the world.
Lovez teh Haloz.

You just blew my mind.
