The 40GB PS3 Does Not Fail (Quality Assurance)

There was an apparent rumor floating around that I heard nothing about. A dutch news page, Gamed.nl, reported news that the new 40GB Playstation 3's were hitting an astronomical 40% failure rate. This number seemed a bit on the high side. I had heard of maybe one failing PS3, and that was around launch. Well, it was probably started by a disgruntled 360 fan, because Sony has venomously denied the claim.
We are very proud of the quality and reliability of PlayStation 3 and are disappointed that such extremely sloppy journalism has resulted in this totally inaccurate story,
Sony of Europe's David Reeves, continued to gush about the launch of the new SKU.
Since launching the 40GB PS3, we have experienced a fantastic jump in sales and the failure rates have remained at the very low level that we not only strive for, but have been achieving since the launch of PS3.
Lets face it people, the hardware on the PS3, while a bit on the expensive side, is pretty darn solid platform. The Xbox 360 (which I love) has had a disparagingly high failure rate. With the massive criticism Microsoft received over that, I doubt anyone in the industry would be naive enough to push a platform with an even higher margin of error.

No, the 40 gig PS3 model fails on a much, much bigger level than mere hardware failure.
Fanboy much Shin Gallon?..and no..just no.
