Playstation Network Update For The Week Of 11/09/2007
It’s official, the demo for Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune is available for download on the PlayStation Network, and every PS3 owner should jump all over it. This is a showcase title for the system, which has enough visual polish to contend with Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction. The combat is intense and feels like a tighter, more polished Gears of War style of action. This one looks like a winner.
To my surprise there is a trailer for the film adaptation of Stephen Sondheim’s musical about cannibalism and revenge, Sweeny Todd. This was a bizarre step for the PSN, considering the types of movies they usually promote. Now they did promote Across the Universe which was the Julie Taymor 60’s musical with Beatles tunes, but Sondheim is a different animal. Usually when you bring up Sondheim in theatrically literate gay circles, you can see the queens faint from exuberance one by one, until they are writhing on the floor in musical ecstasy from the likes of a religious fever dream. He writes a damn good musical, and if you are interested in something dipped in a vat of the bizarre, check it out with Fruit's post of the trailer on PopSucker.

Thanks for mentioning the Sweeney Todd trailer. Saw it on Broadway last year I think and fell in love with it. I've also only seen the trailer on my tiny monitor so it'll be nice to see it on a much bigger screen.
Right now I'm downloading the new update and I also want to try Uncharted before asking for it for Christmas but I'm sure it's gold.
Sweeney Todd looks AMAZING. I can't wait to see that and I never go see movies.
Uncharted demo rocks! That is gonna be some game!
