Players vs. Blunt: Game Spotlights Political Scandal

Although I may be accused of preferring a certain console over others (hint: it's shaped like a box), I can appreciate any game on any platform for many different reasons. Today I came across a nifty little flash game that is not only a good bit of fun and well executed, but it involves political scandal, which is even more fun!
For those of you who aren't visiting your parents in your home state of Missouri over the holiday this week, the state's Governor has been in a bit of hot water. No, I'm not referring to eliminating benefits for 122,000 of the state's 1 million MO Medicaid recipients in 2005, I mean more recently. Still not sure what I mean? The game's introduction explains as follows:
Governor Matt Blunt has been up to no good, destroying public records in clear violation of Missouri's "Sunshine Law." Matt Blunt broke the law -- now he's lying about it and doing everything he can to cover it up. Can you shine the light on Matt Blunt before the deletes all of the incriminating e-mails on his office computers? Stop Matt Blunt from destroying more public records!"
For the Republican spokesman's response to the Missouri Democratic Party funded effort be sure to read GamePolitic's article in it's entirety when you're done playing the Whack-a-Mole styled game. What are your thoughts on games as a vehicle for political discussion? Does it seem effective or is it merely a fun three minute diversion?
PS - Pay no attention to the "Support Matt Blunt" Google ad that will inevitably follow this article!

i think there are quite a few very well-done games that tackle dicey political issues, and they're all fantastic examples of a new use for a medium whose potential has yet to be fully exploited.
in particular, the italian company http://www.molleindustria.org/ does a lot of really great politically charged games. i think everyone's heard of their mcdonald's or queer power games by now, but they're definitely instant classics in the genre. does anyone know of any others?
I'd rather see a game on Sandy Berger, Clinton’s National Security Advisor who was caught red handed stealing information and documents and stuffing it in his clothes and documents that cannot be replaced about him and the Clintons and their various activities in the middle east.
Oh didn't Hilary hire him again even after he was convicted of destroying classified documents? This is also a man who lied and complained when I believe it was the ABC made movie was censored because Bill Clinton and him whined about a scene showing Berger denying to kill Bin Laden when he had the chance.
It’s just the Democommies playing politics. Kind of like how they somehow play the party of tolerance though they fought to protect segregation and slavery. Not to mention the only Klan member to still be serving in congress is a Democrat named Robert Byrd who was voted also as the Senate Pro Temp.
