Half Life 2 - Episode 3: "Something Pretty Ambitious"

hl2hunter.jpg

I JUST finished Half Life 2: Episode 2 mere hours ago, and not to give anything away, I'll just say the damn thing ends on a cliffhanger. I mean, I get that in order for episodic gaming to work they need to incentive-ize the purchase of the next installment, but still, ARGH!

Well, they're working on it, and they've got plans. BIG plans. In a interview with Rock, Paper, Shotgun, Episode 2's Project Lead David Spayrer had only a few short words about the upcoming expansion, and why we didn't get a sneak preview on the Orange Box disk.

[W]e didn’t want to dilute the moment of the ending. I think if you’d watched the credits roll and then this high action Episode Three trailer came on, you wouldn’t quite feel the same. Another reason was to leave us open on Episode Three. We’re going to try and do something pretty ambitious for that project. We don’t want to over commit.

Personally, after seeing how the Portal gun totally breaks Half Life as we know it, I want it in there. The gravity gun is great and all, but after using it for 20+ hours (not to mention trying to get that rotten gnome achievement), I could use a change.

Omgosh ... All I have to say is that Half Life is SUCH a good game!... I am in the middle of Episode 2 as I write this! ...

I am SOOO thankful for The Orange Box !!!

I remember hearing about Half Life for YEARS and I was never able to pllay it because I never had a high end PC powerful enough to play... and NOW ITS ON THE 360!!!... thank you SO MUCH VAVLE...

This game is SO FRUSTRATING but at the same timme the story sucks you in to where you just cannot put the controller down... I have lost many nights of sleep ...

I have played HL1 and HL2 with Ep1 and 2, and I can say that with the orange box it was the best thing they could ever do, the only thing I think they could have done better was add HL1 to the box so people who have never played the first one could play it as well, but as for the game play of all of the HL2 and the two EP's.... well so far, OMFG its great, it makes you want to see whats around the next corner or next hill.

And with the ending of Ep2, it makes you sooo pissed at the bad guys that you just want to run killing everything but you have to wait for it to come out on ep3. me I could not wait so I started HL2 all over and did not stop untill I hit the end of EP2 again,

did that help me, nope, I am still eagerly waiting for ep3 and stil playing I have even done the hack to add the portal gun to the game, and looking for player made mods

The quality of Episode 2 is too good. Story, locations, ect. You could struggle to better this in a massive budget Movie.

I'm waiting for Episode 3 so bad, I really wish I was taking on the combine.

Want some spoilers that you won't find out until near launching of ep3? Wait for them then. LOL! Nah seriously. Advisors are not the bad guys...........

Bet you didn't know that did you. They were destroyed by the combine decades ago. They didn't kill Eli Vance, they just extracted crucial information. What they did do is infect Eli. Eli will have their ability to move things with his mind. He will be captured by the combine eventually though. They will "reprogram" him to be part of them and he will search and destroy you. Guess what? the same will happen to you...namely gordon. Eli will defeat you and you will wake up infected. Then the game ends. Half-Life 3 will start a whole new story with new characters and way better graphics. Have any of you played gt5? The gaphics will be better.
You will start off the game with a telekinetic ability. Thats enough for now.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
