As far as Gaygamer.net is concerned, we're perhaps asking for it by knowing this behavior is out there, and choosing to face it.

But more literally, this site is here asking to let us have a place where we WONT get subjected to this treatment. I agree with all who think this video shows why this site is here. We're asking to be allowed to be.

He, and we, go into something knowing what will happen, what shouldn't be happening, in an effort to bring awareness and change.

Ah, Lydecker, you are absolutely correct. That's not only the other side of the coin, it's our raison d'etre - to create a space for gay gamers to exist and interact without the so-called "asking for it" style barrage of ignorant and bigoted speech.

And it's worth noting, maybe, that linguistic anthropologists refer to such space as "queered," and by participating here we all help in "queering the space." So for gay people, in a very real sense, putting ourselves out there and risking attacks of hateful language or worse (either as individuals or in our various communities) is an essential part of the process of progress.

Great podcast. You guys threw me off by actually using chapters when most podcasts don't. Nice to see.
As for "asking for it", I think it is a bad term to use as it does imply a discussion whether you deserve what you get or not. I think it is more that you "Expected It" by using a site name like Gaygamer or a gamertag like GayBoy. In both cases, you got what you "expected" unfortunately.
I would be curious if GayBoy got any positive experience or defenders when the homophobes where sounding off.
Once again, great site and podcast.

Tiny, I also had the hots for Kratos. There is something romantic about a cursed soul who is also a scantily clad muscle man. Good to know I am not the only one.
