The Witcher Live For Download On GamersGate
Polish powerhouse CDProjekt and beleaguered publisher Atari both deserve to be proud of the long-awaited RPG, The Witcher. Available in stores for big-boy purchases, The Witcher is also available for download on download portal GamersGate. I've never used GamersGate, but I'm a fan of Direct2Drive, so if the service is at all similar I'll give The Witcher a try without having to put on pants and leave my remote, nearly inaccessible suites in the soaring heights of the GayGamer Castle.
The Witcher sticks out in my mind for several reasons: I was still feeling the high of the first Neverwinter Nights when The Witcher was first announced way back when, and it takes its story straight from the pages of award-winning Polish fantasy author Andrzej Sapkowski. I've never read Sapowski, but I'm a big fantasy buff and if someone made a game based on books by favorite authors of mine such as Jacqueline Carey, China Mieville, or Storm Constantine, I'd be all over it. Also, the game uses a much-modified version of NWN's Aurora engine, and I'm curious to see how it stands up to the gorgeous but clunkily-controlled NWN2.

The Witcher® live on GamersGate
