Metal Gear Solid 4 Delayed Until Next Year
Originally Metal Gear Solid 4 was slated to hit the PS3 with a worldwide release this winter. Revealed in a recent press release, Konami has stated that the game will be pushed back to the second quarter of 2008. The earliest we could see the title would be in the middle of spring. The only explanation given was for greater improvement to the title.
KONAMI had initially intended to release "METAL GEAR SOLID 4 GUNS OF THE PATRIOTS" this winter and has been working on the production of the title. KONAMI has decided to delay the title's release in order to make further improvements to the quality of the game and provide even greater enjoyment for more customers worldwide.
This setback will affect Sony’s sales for this holiday season, since MGS4 has been seen as a system-seller from the start. There are a bunch of great games being released this season, but now MGS4 will have to take its place with Little Big Planet as two of the most anticipated titles being released for PS3 next year.

I was expecting this to come from Konami, and so the waiting game commences...
How can a 360 version not be made? In order to recoup anything close to the budget they've spent on this game they're going to have to port it to something. My guess is that this and the previous delay were made with a port release date in mind.
Sad that it is getting delayed, but I would rather have this game late and polished than "on time" and buggy.
