LucasArts and Bioware To Team Up For New Game, I Mean "Interactive Entertainment Product"

Today, a potentially beautiful thing has happened. LucasArts and BioWare have agreed to work together in creating an "interactive entertainment product." I'm willing to bet it's a game. Anyways, details of said 'product' will be "unveiled at a later date, will be developed and published by BioWare and LucasArts, and will push the boundaries of the gaming market by utilizing the strengths of both companies to deliver an innovative, high-quality experience." The last time this happened, I believe, was with Knights of the Old Republic, though I think that was BioWare's show rather than LucasArts'.
LucasArts, in the past, have been magnificent creators of games. Perhaps this alliance with BioWare might lead them back on the path towards gaming excellence the likes of which we have not seen since Grim Fandango and The Dig, just to name a couple. Whatever their union gives birth to, I can say with confidence that it's likely going to be pretty good. We'll be sure to give you more details as we receive them. For now, should you wish to keep up with it yourself, follow the link after the press release. To see that, make the jump.
