Halo DS Is Real, But You'll Never Play It
Remember when rumors of Halo coming out on the DS were running rampant for a day or two? Well turn is it's true...half-true, that is. Halo DS was worked on, it seems, and there's actually a demo for it as you can see in the video. However, it's highly unlikey, nay, impossible that you or I will ever see Microsoft's biggest franchise on a competitor's system.
Apparently there were some "really big names" involved in the game's development and it was hoped that they would be able to bring Halo DS to Nintendo's portable system. Though, for a myriad of legal reasons, they cannot completely discuss how this all came about in the first place. As you'll see in the footage, Halo DS actually looks pretty good. I wish I could get my hands on a copy of that 'demo' just to try it out.

he says, it's a tripple A developer..... I keep thinking it must be by someone who ports games for 2K games. Considering that Jade Empire was a Microsoft first party game.
Keeping in mind that this is prototype demo and completed a year or more ago (when Matt first broke the story), it looks spiffy and shows that the Halo-formula could work pretty easily on the system. I would buy it.
I think the best part of this story is seeing the many theories being thrown around in forums. The most ridiculous thing I've heard from a forum was that "Matt C from IGN reskinned goldeneye himself so he could look like he was right." I'm quite sure that reality has more to do with a traditional game pitch process and less reliant on Junior High-esque ego insecurities about Wikipedia entries.
after MC's homophobic crusade against Tingle, i have no respect for that guy or anything he says. this whole "see, i was right and none of you can ever play this" neh-neh'ing just further confirms his assaholic personality.
*sigh*
Matt, what a pretty face....
After watching the video, I picked up my DS, looked at the video, looked at my DS, and made a very sad sound.
I didn't realize how much I wanted it until I knew I couldn't have it.
