The Top Ten Most Played Games on Xbox LIVE
According to stats released by Microsoft, these are the top played games worldwide on Xbox LIVE:
1. Halo 2
2. Gears of War
3. Hexic HD
4. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas
5. Call of Duty 3
6. Call of Duty 2
7. Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2
8. Elder Scrolls: Oblivion
9. Crackdown
10. PGR3
Also in the report, Xbox LIVE members have spent more than 3.2 billion hours playing games (equivalent to 137 million days or more than 376,000 years of gaming) and have unlocked more than 600 million Achievements, creating a total combined Gamerscore of more than 14 billion. And interestingly, "gamers have bought more software for the Xbox 360 (24.3 million units), than software for PS3 and Wii combined (19.8 million units)."

Yep, should be 2, it is a typo on Next Gen. (Next Gen also wrote that the Xbox launched in Nov. 2006.) Thanks for the catch!

Of course, we also had a lot less failures from the PS3 and Wii as well.
you know what, of all the XBLA games that Geometry Wars didn't make the list. i mean hexic? yeah sure it's free, but like everyone plays uno, and it's not up there. i find that odd.
