SEEDS Now Known As Platinum Games
What was once Clover studios became SEEDS after Capcom disbanded the developer responsible for Viewtiful Joe and Okami. According to a recent announcement, SEEDS will become Platinum Games on October 1st because of a merger with ODD Corporation.
When Capcom closed the doors to Clover, producer Atsushi Inaba, Hideki Kamiya who created Devil May Cry, and Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami formed SEEDS. With a the all star pedigree of developers, prospects were promising for the new company. Now the company has been renamed to the ultra-generic Platinum Games?!?! Hopefully the games they produce will be more inspired than the name of the company.
