Orange Box Steam Pre-Orders Get Discount and "Gifting"

The oft-delayed FPS extravaganza, Half-Life 2: Orange Box for the Xbox 360 and PC will finally be hitting store shelves next month. For those of you who are Steam savvy can pre-purchase the download before the October 10th release get 10% off the full purchase of $49.95, saving said customers about $5. Valve has confirmed that the same offer is available for Xbox 360 and PC versions at certain retailers.
The Orange Box comes chocked full of games that fans may already own like Half-Life 2 and Episode 1. So Valve has set up a "gifting" method of delivery. If you would like to give one of the games away, you can assign the game to an individual to download.

The only problem being, anyone who wanted Half Life 2 and episode 1 bought them several years ago...
And anyone who gets them as a gift will probably want Portal, Team Fortress 2, and ep. 2 as well. It's cheaper to buy the pack of course, so they will and then they'll have extra too.
