A New Game About A Show About Old Games: Game Center CX

Who does not love Japanese television. Who hasn't wasted a couple hours on YouTube mindlessly clicking on weird clips from various variety programs, pranking and game shows. Apparently there is a show in japan titled Game Center CX. In this program viewers are treated with probably the most indepth retrospectives I can imagine ever wanting. Interviews, exclusive footage and history and a man even attempts to play the game to the end. You know, the kind of programming Tech TV had before it went south.
It was recently announced that Game Center CX has a licensed game in development. You heard me. This weird potentially paradoxical game will feature a series of mock retro titles including a vertical scrolling shooter, a ninja platformer, a "lap running" game (loosely translated) as well as a short RPG. I don't know about anyone else, but the kitsch factor alone makes me want to buy a copy. It goes on sale November 15th of this year, with a price tag of 5,040 yen. There is no word weather or not the game will be receiving a US release (unlikely), but I for one am going to be importing a copy.
