UPDATE: Xbox 360 To Support HDMI? Confirmed

A rather stealthy informant has snapped this picture of an Xbox 360 motherboard with an HDMI port. Nothing has been confirmed from Microsoft, but it looks like they are gearing up to release a model of the 360 to compete with the high-end PS3. If this is true, it would make five 360 SKUs available to consumers. I would like to see a 360 built with HDMI and an internal HD-DVD.
To compete with the rapid availability and growing affordability of HD sets, do you think Microsoft should have built the original Xbox 360 with an internal HD-DVD? That would have affected the price quite a bit, making it comparable to the PS3, but do you think it would have been worth it?
[UPDATE]
It seems that Microsoft has confirmed that HDMI is standard on the Premium model of the Xbox 360. The console will be priced at $350 and will have an HDMI logo emblazoned on the box. A Microsoft rep told Kotaku:
"Yes, we are offering an HDMI port for Xbox 360 simply as another choice in Xbox 360 owners' games and entertainment experience. Retailers are gradually introducing HDMI-enabled Xbox 360s into the channel to meet demand."
HDMI out at $350, now that's a bargin.
For a pic of the backside of the new model, make the jump.

the elite also has HDMI built into it. the only ones that should be recieving the upgrade are the premier and core versions.
"Should the XBox have HD-DVD built in?"
I say no. Short term it has done them wonders! Long time might sting as game can come with higher resolution textures, movies, sounds than can take up more than 1 DVD. There's already a game (can't remember name - Rage by ID?) that will take up 3 DVD or 1 Blue-ray. Swapping DVD isn't that bad.
The blurray has hurt the PS3, and there's still no proof it will help gaming that much. The potential is there and it will take a while - maybe even next gen. Sony seems to be doing a few things right lately with the PS3 and the PSP though.
It has hurt HD-DVD though, as it looks like HD-DVD don't have the support it seemed to have.
