Video: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Ring of Fates

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles for the GameCube, although a pretty light game in terms of replay value and storyline, was full of charm and beautifully made. If it had had a bit more traditional turn-based gameplay, you almost would have had a sense of what Final Fantasies would have been like had they stayed on Nintendo systems. The only problem was, I didn't have anyone that would ever have even considered playing the game along with me, and that was really the raison d'etre for the whole thing. In fact, there were some parts of the game that I tried playing single player that were downright impossible without a partner. Which sucks.

So the series is perfect for the DS, but once again I'll be left in the cold, with no one to play with. The only friends I have that actually own DSs probably won't be into a cute fantasy action RPG. I can just see the interaction: "Wanna spend the night shooting magic fireballs and healing willy nilly??" God I wish I had more gaygamer friends. Looks like the closest I'll be able to get to a fully realized RPG on my DS designed for single player will be the highly anticipated Dragon Quest IX. Anyway, a look at the upcoming Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates game, however short.

Follow the jump for close-ups of a cute Japanese girl really getting a kick out of the game, with a group and alone! Pffft.

ah, look how much fun she's having! I can't wait for that game. Well I now have one friend with a DS who is willing to play that game with me, so I can at least do 2 player. But, 4 player? I HIGHLY doubt that will happen.

I loved CC on the Cube! My ex and his sister, and I would play for hours! We always wanted a fourth, but we were very happy with three.

Alas, my current boyfriend isn't into games as much as my last, but he plays with me sometimes. I doubt he'll be up for this game.

Aw, I'll play with you, Pirate Prince. There was this one godly time where I got three people together with me to play on the gamecube and it was utter bliss. I'm super psyched for the next installment

Hah, I guess I kinda took it for granted that I got to play CC with three other people all the time? (I have four other friends with GBAs and the cords to connect them to the GC)
Eh, I played through it on single player as well. Can't wait for this game (or the one for the Wii)
