Tarsem Directs Condemned Film Adaptation

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a film adaptation of the Xbox 360 launch title Condemned: Criminal Origins is being directed by Tarsem Singh. You may remember Tarsem from his last psychotically surreal film The Cell, back in 2000. He also directed R.E.M.’s music video Losing My Religion.
Originally called Species X, the film is now known by The Unforgettable, even though it follows the plot of the 360 game. The director is known for his lush visual style, with an emphasis on religious imagery and fantasy. The story follows a detective concerned with hard evidence who stumbles into the realms of the supernatural when confronted by a strange criminal investigation.
Jason Hall, one of the co-creators of the game concept, is on-board as a producer. Also, one of the writers from The Shiled, Kurt Sutter, is writing the script. Warner Bros. Pictures is backing the production with David Goyer, Basil Iwanyk and Monolith Productions.
