Recap: Midway's Stranglehold Party
The last time I got to check out John Woo's Stranglehold, I was working for Gamehelper and was watching an E3 2006 demo. Since I didn't get to go to E3 this year, I was totally stoked to not only get a chance to play the game, but to also see the new multiplayer mode which is set to be included.
I arrived at the Midway party shortly before it started, clad in my swanky tie and fedora, and was surprised to find only a few dozen people sparsely populating the club's immense main room. Well, that only made sense, right? After all, you have to show up at least an hour after a party's start to be fashionably late. Well, whatever, more Stranglehold multiplayer for me!
...oh, wait, what's that? There's no multiplayer function on display? Um... OK. Well, I still haven't played any of the game itself, so I spent about an hour shooting up a few different levels, which was an enjoyable distraction. I then moved on to the E3 build of Blacksite: Area 51, which looks like it'll be a fun shooter once it receives a little bit of polish (there were some minor graphic glitches and whatnot, but I was told that most of them have already been taken care of).
Oh, what's that? Uwe Boll is in town and showing his wretched interpretation of Postal at The Castro Theater? Ahh... that explains why the crowd continued to dwindle the later it got in the evening. I'll bet that as wretchedly awesome as that after-party was, they didn't have drinks as well-made or food as tasty as Midway did, though.
However, I did take some pictures of the party... hey, when you lug a bigass camera in, you feel obligated to actually use the damn thing so your efforts have been validated. Hit the jump to see some of the photos!
