Parappa Creator Releases New Game For The iPod

Matsaya Matsuura, the man behind the classic rhythm title PaRappa the Rappa, just launched the game Musika on the iTunes store for a slim $4.99. The title was developed in association with Sony BGM Music Entertainment.
"The iPod is a device that revolutionized music and it is now poised to be a progressive gaming platform," said Matsuura. "Many years ago Apple's tools first opened my eyes to the power of music and multimedia, so it's exciting to release my first game for this device."
The game can be used as a visualizer to enhance your music listening experience, or as a game. The game portion makes a rhythm game out of the music in your library. While the music plays, the player is prompted to press the center button in time with the letters in the song title. The more you play the game portion, the more difficult the timing becomes.
Head over to the iTunes store to check out the new game to hit the iPod platform.

"The iPod is a device that revolutionized music and it is now poised to be a progressive gaming platform,"...
Yeah, okay.
Keep telling yourself that.
I'm trying to buy it. But I can't. Because I'm Canadian. It tells me only after I've put the game in my cart. What the frug, Apple? I've bought iPod games before. This shouldn't be a new and difficult thing.
Aaaarrgh.
I bought it, expecting a neato visualizer (which I always thought the iPod was severely lacking in) with a clever game attatched.
What I got was colorfully rendered letters moving somewhat to the beat.
Totally not worth five bucks.
