Puzzle Quest To Go Multi-platform

puzzlequestsplash.jpg

After the rousing critical and financial success of Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords on the DS and PSP, publisher D3 plans on porting the game to the Wii, PS2, PC and mobile phones. The title will be released cross-platform in early 2008.

Lead designer and chief executive officer of Puzzle Quest creator Infinite Interactive, Steve Fawkner commented on the success of the original and the upcoming port.

“The lightning quick acceptance and praise we received from fans and press for the fun, deeply immersive gaming experience we created by mixing RPG elements with puzzle gameplay were a dream come true when Puzzle Quest launched. The gaming community has offered such warm support and we are elated to open the game up to more fans by offering new ways to play.”

Who knew that a casual Bejeweled-styled puzzler mixed with hardcore RPG roots could bring together both camps of gaming and turn a pretty penny? It makes me glad that D3 is willing to try something different, and has the panache to pull it off.
