E3 07: MySims

I must admit I was a bit skeptical of MySims at first glance, but after getting to actually watch the game in action, I am now totally hooked. It takes the best parts of The Sims, a dash of Animal Crossing and a huge dose of cuteness and creativity to make what looks like will be a really fun and engaging game.
You start of the game creating your cutsey-poo little square headed character (reminds me of Mac from Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends) and then you set about to revitalizing your town, literally building it from the ground up. Once the town starts thriving, new characters will arrive including a Sushi Chef, a Florist, a DJ and a Fortune Teller, just to name a few. As each of these folks move into your town, they bring with them their own themed building blocks to help make your town whatever you want it to be.
One of the things I found particularly fascinating was the character customization. By walking up to any mirror or wardrobe you can completely change your characters' look. and I mean completely. Eyes, hair, clothes, you can actually change from a boy to a girl if you want to, or if you prefer the drag look, just pop a dress on! It's wonderful and EA has really gone all the way to let the player choose how they want to tell their own story.
Once I have a chance to actually sit down and play the game myself, I will bring you a more detailed account, but keep your eyes open for MySims to land on your Wii and DS this fall!
