E3 07: Chimps and Champs

Well, kids, as exciting as E3 is, Tiny and I are just overwhelmed with the amount of stuff we have experienced an will continue to do today. There's been barely enough time to breathe and eat much less jot down our impressions of everything we've seen, so look for our coverage of E3 to bleed over into the weekend and possibly the beginning of next week. But, on to last night's cavalcade of madness!
We kicked off our evening by attending a Capcom/Sony Online cocktail party with our charming heterosexual man dates of the week, Handsome Tom, Stuttering Craig and the the darling Angry Video Game Nerd from Screw Attack. After a couple rounds of drinks we were lubricated for a lovely walk along the beach (our first such moment since we've been here) with our escorts who then managed to get us in to the EA party being held at the Le Merigot (where le Tiny and I are staying). The theme of the party was their new Sims game The Sims:Castaway (more on that later) and everything was appropriately islandy and we even got a photo op with a chimp in a diaper (no, I'm not kidding. When i get to a scanner I will post the polaroids). After meeting with some of the most lovely reps (Hi, Honey! Hi, Deanna!) at EA it was a quick stop to our room and then off to the Microsoft Community party, and there, the truly mind bending things started happening.
The hotel Viceroy had been completely shut down to accommodate the massive spectacle that was the MS party and you couldn't swing a cat without hitting someone of some note. We shook hands and got a photo op with Peter Moore who was awesome and gave the site his big thumbs up. No sooner had we turned around than Handsome Tom informed us that Peter Molyneux was looking for us! We went and chatted him up for quite a bit until other fans were clamoring for his attention, but we didn't go without scoring a one-on-one interview with the genius himself later today! If you guys have ANYTHING you might want us to ask him, let us know in the comments ASAP.
After a little starstruck wandering around we ran into the delightful Trixie from the Xbox.com community site who promptly introduced us to Major Nelson. Before we knew what was happening, we were being whisked away to a private cabana where the Major interviewed us for his upcoming podcast this Sunday (look for it!).
It was a truly amazing evening of star-studded awsomeness which we finally concluded with a meeting of all the E3 gays over at The Abbey in West Hollywood. Today, as I stare bleary eyed into the computer screen, I'm not sure if I'm still drunk or just excited about all the amazing things that happened last night, but in either case, I'm extremely satisfied that we have helped propel GayGamer to a whole new level.

That's such a sweet photo. Both look so damn happy. Brought smile to face.^^
omg you guys are so lucky!
i always thought both of them were cuties. to have them being more than happy to see you is just, WOW!
Here's a (long) question for Molyneux:
Given that your Fable series tries in many ways to create an authentic human experience, how do you think video games can take emotion, dialogue, and interaction with non-dog NPCs to the next level of realism? You've stated you believe giving the player's avatar short, more generic dialogue can allow the player to overlay their own personality onto that base. But isn't that just a slightly less extreme case of the silent, faceless hero, such as Link, who has often been criticized for having no personality whatsoever? Can an avatar act and speak in a defined, specific manner without sacrificing player control? Finally, what do you think of Mass Effect's reported dialog system that allows the player to quickly input the desired emotion rather than reading a list of dialogue choices?
I also have to agree with the extreme sweetness of that photo. Tiny looks like a little boy who just met Santa Claus.
It was so great to meet you lads last night! You're the bestest!
Woah! That is some great night! The fact that Peter Molyneux was looking for you is just awesome beyond words. And that photo is great. looks like you guys are having a blast. Keep up the great work!
The Viceroy is one of my fave hotels. The interior is done by the chick judge in top design, the one that had the crimp fro.
It was awesome to finally meet you two! Thanks for letting me tag along post-C3, hilarious mishaps and all.
Awww, poor little Mikey stuck in Norway, the land of living Gods, wishing he could be at E3 with FB and Tiny....
