The Witcher's New Website, For Your Perusal
Ever wonder what a male witch is called? This question has kept me up for many a night. I used to think it was "warlock," but after having read a certain amount of literature on the subject, discovered that that is a whole other type of magic user. Then I decided that maybe "witch" is one of those terms that are the same regardless of sex, like "lawyer," or "diva." Well, Atari Europe has answered this haunting question with it's upcoming RPG, The Witcher. Doesn't it sound... masculine?!
Based on books written by a Polish fantasy writer, Andrzej Sapkowski, the games will focus on a mutant/mage/assassin that goes by the name of Geralt whom the player will control in a series of moves and choices that affect the course of the game. I'm usually not a huge fan of European RPGs, especially those that have any similarities to those horrible Underworld movies, but this game actually looks quite worthy of attention. Check it out for yourself at the new official website, in which you can pore over screenshots, character and concept art, and even Geralt's equipment and powers in a myriad of languages.
In all seriousness, what the heck is a witcher?

For clarification, a male witch is a witch. Warlock is old Scottish for traitor and was the name given to a witch who betrayed his or her coven to the inquisition, or other pagan-hating, stab-prone people.
Cheers,
