Nintendo Marks 100th VC Title With Zelda II

Zelda 2 Title - Resized.jpg

Since it's launch, the Wii's Virtual Console has given us a chance to download and play some of our favorite classic Nintendo games. On June 4th, Nintendo will celebrate its hundredth VC title with the release of Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. Over the last six months since the Wii's release, players have downloaded over 4.7 million games at an alarming rate of over 1,000 titles every hour. Pretty damned impressive! And what is everyone downloading? Well, here is a list of the top five downloaded titles which, not surprisingly, is dominated by Mario titles.

  1. Super Mario Bros.
  2. Super Mario 64
  3. Mario Kart 64
  4. Super Mario World
  5. The Legend of Zelda

And now, not only can you download all these great games, but you can add the Wii to your MySpace friends list. That's right, Wii has a MySpace page1 so if you're a wii lover and want the prestige of being one of Wii gazillion friends, check out it's new page here! Everyone else wants to be friends with Wii, don't you?

Woo! The last canonical Zelda game I have yet to play! (Depends on whether or not you count the Oracle games.)

Man, I really need to get the wireless in my new apt working, so I can download this and Actraiser. That will bring my Wii VC download count up to 4, with the original Zelda and Super Mario Bros.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
