Hoshigami Remix Unleashed

Aksys Games has announced that Hoshigami: Ruining Blue Earth Remix (a Nintendo DS remake of the original Hoshigami: Ruining Blue Earth for the PlayStation) is shipping to retailers nationwide. I've never played the game, myself, but my boyfriend is a big fan of it. Whenever I have asked people for their opinion on the game, it's usually a mixed bag of "Oh god it sucks!" or "This is totally one of the best tactical RPGs ever!" Feel free to express your opinions on it. However, take into consideration that this game is a remake. Take a look at some its features:
- Experience the world of Hoshigami like never before! Hoshigami Remix also features a brand new character, missions, music, character art, introductory animation as well as a new localization.
- Novice tactician or battle-hardened veteran?
Select from three different difficulty levels and tailor the game to your skill. - Immerse yourself in battle with an enhanced user interface
Issue strategic commands quickly and efficiently with a revised, streamlined interface and optional stylus control! - Over 50 hours of gameplay with branching paths and multiple endings!
Are you skilled enough to get the one and only true ending? - Trade special items with your friends!
Be a power player and jumpstart your friends’ games with super weapons, armor and spells!
One thing I do know about the game is that it is incredibly difficult. Many times I witnessed the b/f express frustrations over this game, but he kept at it and proved victorious (he's a much bigger fan of tactical RPGs than I, FYI). I'm sure fans of the original will be glad to see this game on store shelves, reborn for the Nintendo DS. More details, after the jump.

Is anyone else worried by the fact that the developer has pretty much only done guilty gear?
Hopefully the "Streamlined" interface is exactly that. The original's drove me crazy! Oh and magic coins are LAME. I think Final Fantasy games have given me a magic item phobia, since they all sucked... am I wrong? Does anyone else have this problem with magic items or am I alone? o.o And I don't mean things like Magic Mace +1... thats a cool magic item :D
hmm never heard of this before tell me how similar is it to FFT, which is my favorite game of all time.
