Final Fantasy II Opening Cinema

Squeenix is cranking up their year-long party for the 20th Anniversary of Final Fantasy with their recent release of Final Fantasy for the PSP and the sequel, Final Fantasy II right around the corner. About to be released on July 24th, Final Fantasy II will share the same presentation of the original remake for the PSP.

Final Fantasy II was originally released for the Famicom in Japan on December 17, 1988, and remade for the GBA as Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls. The game tells the story of an evil emperor who summoned monsters from a demonic realm to conquer the world. He has decimated the land and killed thousands of people, leaving behind countless orphans. From the ashes of destruction, four young survivors seek vengeance for the destruction of their land, their homes, and their parents. It seems that this is where the theme of displaced children came from as seen in later titles like Advent Children and Kingdom Hearts.

It's funny, that was a pretty unremarkable introduction. I think the FFIII intro was far superior.

Where did the blue guy come from?

Why do chicks in these animations always sound like they are 5 years old?

Why would I even care? I don't own a PSP(yet, but with that new noobz exploit to get homebrew running- http://www.noobz.eu/joomla/news/beware-of-the-illuminati.html -, I just might get one) and I found FF2 boring on the NES. Remaking used to be a neat idea when it meant playing my favourite SNES games on the GBA. When I realized they would charge full price for a rom dump though I was a little dissapointed. But now that they keep milking us for the same game up to 4 times, I get really pissed off.

I hate, HATE that generic Japanese girl squeal that seems to be all that girl can make in this video.

Did anybody notice this is the same exact intro from Final Fantasy Origins on PSX?

Count me as another one who hates the sounds the girl is making. She sounds like a bloody 5 year old - no correlation between what she looks like and what she sounds like.

And, of course, she trips and has to be saved by the guy. The stupidest, oldest cliche in the book.

Already DO NOT WANT.

On top of that annoying Anime girl scream cliche, I really, REALLY hate the music. It sounds awful. The 'remastered' soundtrack could sound a lot better, too. ...and it still looks like a fan-made web flash game to me. Oh, and I wish they had made a new video, not just the same one from its previous PS1 incarnation.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
