Beautiful Katamari Details & Footage!
Just the other day, a rumor began circulating around the blogosphere that Namco-Bandai and Microsoft were about to enter into an exclusivity deal that would include Beautiful Katamari. Well, the bit about Beautiful Katamari has been made a little clearer. Gamespot is at Namco-Bandai's Gamer's Day and have their grubby lil' hands on Beautiful Katamari. It turns out the game will be delivered via Xbox 360's Xbox Live Arcade sometime in October of this year. The game will feature achievements (YAY!) and 720p resolution (woohoo!). The report also mentions that Beautiful Katamari will possess the same wacky action that we've all grown to love...so that could be a good or bad thing depending on your personal preference. It's a good thing in my book.
Those of you wondering about the soundtrack can fear no more. It will be completely new as will the various levels throughout the game. You will also gain access to over 50 playable characters, eight of whom will be new for the Xbox 360. The biggest change to the game is the addition of 4-player online multiplayer. In that mode, you will be able to roll your big balls around each other in pure bliss. If that doesn't suit your fancy, there will be an offline 2-player, co-op mode, too.
All of this, including the leaderboards, achievements, levels and multiplayer modes will be accessible "from a handy little hub called the Princedom, wherein you'll run the prince around a small assortment of buildings representing all the stuff you can do."
Excited? I sure as hell am! Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for further details. I imagine some of the other residents of Castle GayGamer are filled with joy upon hearing this news.
