Saturday Morning Cartoons: Super Mario Bros. 3

Whether in person on the Super Mario Brothers Super Show or riding around on dinos in Super Mario World, the Mario Bros. are no strangers to the Saturday morning time block. But, in my opinion, by far their best work was animated during The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3. No wrestling stars or cavemen with speech impediment, just koopa-stomping action which stayed surprising true to the source game, featuring tanuki suits, sledge brothers, airships, and lots more. It even has the brothers doing something you rarely see, actual plumbing! So, this morning, we've got a double feature, The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3: "True Colors" and "A Toadally Magical Adventure!" Enjoy!

True Colors, Part 2

A Toadally Magical Adventure, Part 1

A Toadally Magical Adventure, Part 2

it didn't matter when, i would wake up early just to watch it...

and it was so badly translated...
they basically changed almost every name exept for mario, luigi and koopa...

Ugh. To think I used to adore this show. I remember the voices, and...they're singing now... *scratches head* And even when I was too young to really appreciate flying racoons...I still didn't get that part...

Yeah that show sucked balls. But SMB3 was AWESOME. Man, how exciting was it getting to those airships?

"You think they'll ever learn that lesson in the real world?"

"Heh heh, yeah, when humans get as smart as mushrooms."

LOL, lame. And how can the mushroom people be so smart when they're so easily swayed by those "mushroom kids" with koopa shells on their backs? Come on, those masks weren't even believable. Even Mario, Luigi and, god forbid, Princess Toadstool got the wools pulled over their eyes. I guess they thought they could get away with a lackluster story since kids wouldn't know the difference between good and bad writing.

Wow. Inciting race riots in the Mushroom Kingdom.

I do so love ridiculous, poorly done social commentary.
