Miyamoto Nominated For Time's 100 Most Influential People

Time magazine just released 202 nominations for their 100 most influential people. This year, Mr. Nintendo himself, Shigeru Miyamoto, was nominated and is doing really well in the polls.
Time listed Miyamoto’s pros as:
Most successful game designer, creator of Super Mario, Donkey Kong and The Legend of Zelda, whose new platform, the Wii, is currently the top-selling game console.
As with every nominee with the pros come the cons:
His perfectionist tendencies often result in games being significantly delayed and, despite the Wii's gameplay innovation, its graphics are far behind the competition.
Yeah he’s a perfectionist, but damn his games are good. In the end, I don’t mind waiting.
Miyamoto is sitting pretty in the nominations with an average rating of 91 out of a 100. He’s nestled side by side with J.K. Rowling , outranked Steve Jobs at with an average rating of 85, and Matt Groening at 68. Readers can vote on each nominee on a sliding scale of 1 to 100. So head on over there and give some support to your favorite nominees.

Awesome! Miyamoto completely deserves this. I think especially in our generation of gamers, he is the it man of gaming. I would challenge any game designer to not list him as their number one influence/aspiration.
Go Miyamoto!
