Diddy Kong Racing Contest Finalists
It was a late night here at GayGamer castle as we sat up going through all the great entries to our Diddy Kong Racing contest. We managed to narrow it down to three and realized that we just couldn't make the final decision so we are leaving it up to you to pick the winner.
Try as we might, we weren't able to find a decent voting plug-in for our publisher so unfortunately we will have to do voting in the comments. So, this is how it's going to work; after the jump you will find the three finalists, each labeled with a number. In the comments, simply leave the number of the piece that is your favorite. Voting will be open from now until Friday morning when the winner will be announced.

I'm going to say entry 3. The other two are very orginal and look fun but 3 looks like it has more... I don't know... effort perhaps?
You can see the lines that go into making Diddy there and it also is very child like and fun much like I imagine the games are (I've never played dk racing)
the first one while interesting is Donkey Kong, not Diddy, and is more a photoshop piece.
The second looks amazing but it also looks like it was maybe made with a computer... I don't know I just don't see the hand made look that three has.
So make mine 3.

I didn't choose that one immediately, but it won my heart once I looked at Diddy's hand more closely... >:D

#1 definately. The setting has nothing to do with a DK game admittingly, but you can tell the artist put alot more work in it than the other finalist.

This is SO hard. They're all so different, it makes picking one over another almost arbitrary...but I'm gonna go with #1 because I'm a nerd and an Escher fan. But I give props to poop, big time. Tough call.

#2 for me - was a close decision, #1 is gorgeous, but it's donkey kong and not diddy kong - and #2 just captures the feeling of a fun-racer with unique weapons far better than #3 ;-)

All three are great in their own individual way (fun artwork, guys), but I vote for #1 because it's the wittiest in concept - imagine an Escher type world as a platformer and an ape as your avatar!
