Catan Gets A Download Date In May
Next month XBLA is getting another title to beef up their library of board games with Catan. The game is an adaptation of the hugely popular board game Settlers of Catan designed by Klaus Teuber. The game supports up to four players, or single players can face off against 13 unique AI personalities. The AI was developed in a collaboration between Klaus Teuber and Brian Reynolds, who designed Civilization II and Rise of Nations.
I love the inclusion of board games in the XBLA experience. It’s great to get some of your scattered friends together for a while and not have to worry about enemy fire, or missing a waypoint. I hope Microsoft includes more board games in their Live library. We may just see a rebirth of the board game, in digital form.
