Boom Boom Rocket Bursts Onto XBLA In April

boom-boom-rocket.jpg

It seems that Bizarre Creations’ new music puzzler Boom Boom Rocket will drop onto the Xbox Live Arcade sooner than expected. Recently the developer promised to deliver the game in the middle of April. This is the second game on XBLA from Bizarre Creations. The game involves exploding rockets to the time of electro-remixed classical music. You may have heard of a little game called Geometry Wars? Yeah, well this is the follow up to that runaway hit.

This title caught my attention because it looked considerably similar to one of my favorite PS2 titles, FantaVision. Not many took to this rather odd launch game, but I just adored it. The gameplay was fast and furious, and the 2-player mode was killer. I loved that the entire time both players were competing for the supremacy of the board. Do we have any other FantaVision fans out there, or am I the only one?

Oh Toots... I've finally someone who played Fantavision. That and Aqua Aqua got me through those early years of PS2 drought. And while Fantavision wasn't by any means a triple-A title, it certainly got me through some doldrums, and looked pretty.

Oh dear, FantaVision, I love that game so much. That was the first thing I thought of when I saw that screen shot of Boom Boom Rocket. Christmas holidays with bean bag chairs and facing off against my cousins on FantaVision multiplayer mode in the soft glow of the brand new PS2's power light. Perfection.

I only got my PS2 last year, but Fantavision was one of the first games I picked up for it because I heard so many people reviewing it and not knowing what the hell was going on. If that's not a recipe for off-kilter goodness, I don't know what is. Nice game, especially for 4 bucks used.

Well well well, I am not the only person in the world that likes FantaVision and now Aqua Aqua. I really thought i was a lone star in the gaming society for liking them. But now I know I am atleast not the only one. I personally haven't played Aqua Aqua but I want it. I played the original Wetrix. Now that I have been reminded of FantaVision I am going to play it a bit.

Peace Out
