Impossible Mission For DS And PSP

Back in the day, Epyx produced some of the most solid titles for the Commodore 64. One of the best titles to come from them was the Impossible Mission series. To this day, there were only two titles in the series, but they were crowning achievements in a day of simplistic game design.
Now, System 3 is resurrecting some old games from the Epyx library, firstly a new game for the Impossible Mission series for the DS and the PSP. For those of you too young to remember, or too senile to recall, Impossible Mission was an intricate platformer where you played a top secret agent who must stop professor Elvin Atombender from tampering with National Securtiry Computers. You must infiltrate the professor's base and avoid deadly robots, precariously jump from moving lifts, and collect pieces to central system's password to shut it down and stop Atombender once and for all.
They will be updating the game by incorporating 3D objects, sound and music. New additions will include 3 playable characters, and three play options: new, original and a hybrid mode that will incorporate the new visual elements with the original gameplay. Just like the original, the level layout will randomly generate each time you play, so no two games are alike.
I will definitely keep this game on my radar, since I was such a fan of the original. To this day, the experience of hearing the opening line of the game 'Another Visitor! Stay a while, stay forever! (maniacal laughter)' is etched in my brain as one of my favorite C64 moments.

Just as long as they also remake Jumpman, I'll be a happy guy. (But if they don't, the original Jumpman author already gave his blessing to homebrew developers remaking it....)
