Games Radar Chronicles Top 7 Gaming PR Bungles

daikatana.jpg

Games Radar has certainly had some interesting features lately. There was that controversial piece on possibly gay characters, as well as the equally misfired follow-up article; now it seems they're back to running decent pieces, like this latest one about major PR screw-ups in the gaming industry:

Things don't always go as planned, and whether it's the fault of bad marketing, overzealous developers or just piss-poor self-representation, things sometimes spiral out of their control.

And then, there are the true disasters - events so epic in their scope that "out of control" doesn't nearly cut it

To be honest, most of the stuff in the list is pretty recent, including All I Want For Xmas Is A PSP and the entire PS3 launch (though, seriously, I don't think anyone's surprised that those made it onto the list). More entertaining, though, are some of the older items, like Daikatana's chaotic development and release cycle and nearly every stupid stunt Acclaim pulled before they finally went bankrupt.

Oh, and big shocker: Uwe Boll is on the list, too. Try not to be too shocked by that one.
