Blue Dragon Confirmed For August

Big excitement on the 360 RPG front! Blue Dragon, Mistwalker's highly anticipated RPG that's been a popular 360 hit Japan, will be hitting shelves her in the US sometime in August. In an interview with Kotaku, Blue Dragon creator, Hironobu Sakaguchi, confirmed not only the launch, but the fact that there will be three huge pieces of downloadable content for the game that will be made available to players over a three to four month period after the initial release.
The more I see and hear about this title, the more excited I am to grab it when it comes out. August is shaping up to be a pretty stacked month what with the recent confirmation of FPS art masterpiece Bioshock on August 21 and now Blue Dragon. I just hope they don't come out on the same day, I don't think my poor nerves (or my wallet) could handle it.

Blue Dragon a huge hit in Japan? nope "slight2 would be more accurate...
from GameSpots x360 page:
"just 9,035 Xbox 360s were sold in Japan during the week, placing it in a distant third place. The figure was also a decline for the console, which had received a slight sales bump following its bundling with Hironobu Sakaguchi's Final Fantasy-esque, 360-exclusive role-playing-game, Blue Dragon, last fall."
GayGamer seems to be slowly edging towards being such m$ fanboys, what happened to simple unbiased reporting? huge hit indeed.
I have to agree that while it certainly resulted in a sales spike in Japan, the game isn't really what you could call a "huge hit". The most successful 360 game in Japan? yes. A huge hit? No.
And while this game looks pretty darn fun, (and I might pick it up) am I wrong in assuming this isn't really the kind of title that "most" Xbox 360 owners are generally interested in?
Finally! This is exciting news. Salute to quality RPGs on the 360!
ya, MOST 360 players will have any care for this game, but that's just because that the 360 is made from Microsoft, an American company, which has very American games, which then causes most of the people to purchase it to be American. And most Americans have no care for RPGs. but personally, im excited for this and since my little brother is dying for a 360 (and we just got a Wii, but, he's a very American kid (despite the fact that we live in Canada) and the Wii isn't appealing too much to him) i think i just might get it
I was originally very interested in this title, but after it's poor performance in Japan, I'm rethinking its quality as an RPG.
I'll have to see (Of course, I'd need to get an Xbox 360 too).
