Ouendan! Sequel On The Way

Japanese site Dengeki Online has released a list of upcoming Wii and DS games that are set to come out this year in Japan. Among the interesting titles on a list that includes Animal Crossing and Super Mario Galaxy is a sequel to my current favorite gaming obsession, Ouendan! The new game, titled Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Tamashii Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2, (which roughly translates to the amazing "Burn! Hot-Blooded Rhythm Spirit! Fight! Cheerleading!") will feature a 1-4 player mode and, one can assume, an all new musical score. Although no release date is given, the game will hit the shelves some time in 2007. Freaking SWEET! Editor's Note: In my last article The Road To Ouendan! my brief statement that I didn't care for the Elite Beat Agents song list was met with much derisive commentary. So, before the comments on this article devolve into another Ouendan! vs Elite Beat Agents bitch-a-thon, allow me to remind everyone that games are all a matter of personal taste. Some people prefer working with music and songs that they know, while others appreciate the differences and goofiness that the Japanese version of the game has to offer. In the end, both games are excellent titles with fun and engaging gameplay. As a wise TV show once taught me: The world don't move to the beat of just one drum, what might be right for you, may not be right for some. It takes, Diff'rent Strokes to move the world.
Now, that said, can't we all just get hold hands and get along?

W00t!!1! for crazy/weird J-Pop! Gotta love it! If ya' like the mainstream playlist from EBA (ie, Cher), more power to ya'!
Yeah, sorry about that. I may have accidentally ignited all that. But yay Ouendan sequel! ^_^
do you guys know if Japanese DS games would play on a north american DS?
Yup. A friend of mine has a few Japanese games, and they work perfectly fine on his DS. There's absolutely no region encoding on the DS.
thanks! good to know. guess i should try to get the original 'Osu' at some point...
I'm surprise they're not trying to merge the two series together so they can release one game in Japan and North America.
