Oblivion: Shivering Isles Preview
Those lucky duckies at VE3D got their hot little hands on a preview copy of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - Shivering Isles, and this time they go deeper than answering a few questions. A three-page in-depth preview of the Realm of Sheogorath (AKA the Mad God, natch) shows what looks like a massive addition to the world of Oblivion - the VE3D folks claim the new landmass looks to be about a third the size of Cyrodil. It also boasts locales with such invigorating names as "The Hill of Suicides," "The Jester's Spine Mountains," and "The Laughing Coast."
Bethesda puts it thus:
Within the Realm of Sheogorath, players can explore the two extreme sides of the god's madness—the sublimely creative and the completely psychotic. Something is happening to the Shivering Isles and Sheogorath himself looks to you to be his champion and defend his realm and its inhabitants from destruction. Do you have the strength to survive his trials, tame a realm fraught with paranoia and despair, and wear the mantle of a God?
Why yes, I believe I do. I live in downtown Manhattan...Sheoggy's digs should be a cakewalk.
