Manhunt Sequel For Wii [Update]
Rockstar Toronto dropped the bomb yesterday with their announcement for Manhunt 2 on the Wii. This came as quite a surprise considering Nintendo’s general squeaky clean image. Nintendo has been catering to family fun and entertainment for years. Look at the launch of the Wii. There were families playing the Wii together. Grandmothers and grandsons playing Wii Sports in the spirit of togetherness. Now Rockstar comes along to throw a grenade in the center of family fun.
Manhunt 2 is also coming to the PS2, and PSP, but I can guarantee that there will be quite a stink surrounding the Wii version. This title is landmark for the Wii, because it will shatter the public perception of the Wii as a kiddie system. The brutal gameplay in the original Manhunt exceeded anything in the GTA series. You could choke, strangle, and chop your way through each mission. Imagine utilizing the Wii remote to implement your means of destruction. I see grabbing someone in game and putting them in a choke hold with a strangling movement of the Wii remote, then press a button, pull out a knife and stab your assailant in the chest. Damn, I think I smell Jackie Thompson right around the corner.

And if Jack Thompson doesn't get disbarred by then, I'm sure we will be hearing from him. Hell, even if he does by then, I'm sure we'll still be hearing from him anyways.
Oh snap, I knew they'd have to do it someday! I was just talking to friends about it, "in manhunt 2, you should be able to kill people by choking them with their own arms. Oh yes, your kung-fu will be strong!"
