Dragon Quest Swords Details, Scans

dqslogo.jpg

Oh mercy, how I can NOT wait for this game. RPGamer, my favorite location for obscure japanese RPG's that I will have to wait 3 or more years for, has put up some scans for Dragon Quest: Swords from V-Jump, a sister magazine of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump that focuses on video games.

As far as I can tell, although I'm just beginning my japanese studies, the characters are as follows: the nameless hero, with the curliest hair i've seen on a game character since... ever; Dane, the stylish nobleman with an attitude much like Angelo from DQVIII; Baudo (Baldo?) the very NOT bald bearish strongarm that adds a much needed mustachioed machismo to the game; and Seteya the magician girl, who sports an outfit strikingly similar to Madonna's during her "Like a Virgin" phase.

There also appears to be some element of monster interaction. Whether or not this means you can have monsters fight for you or not remains unclear due to my rather rudimentary knowledge of japanese. But come on, have you ever played a Dragon Quest that didn't? If so, it would be like being "...touched for the very first time."

Scans here. [RPGamer]
