Bungie Silences Teens With 'The A-Hole Button' for Halo 3, Master Chief Happy and Gay

Sick and tired of hearing acne ridden, high-pitched swearing, trash-talking teens (and sometimes adults) while playing Halo? Well worry no more, Bungie has heard your cries. They have worked hard to bring us..."The A-Hole Button!" This wonderful tool will be available for all to use in Halo 3. Here's how it works. You hear the kiddie drop the 'F-bomb' (or whatever bomb), you press the 'Back' button, for now, and you bring up the list of players and their tags. You then go to the offending gamer's tag and mute them. Voila! They have been silenced...though not really 'cause they are likely yapping on the other end, only you can't hear them. Now you can kill them in peace...or be killed...I'm usually the one getting killed. Here's the word from Bungie:
Anyone who’s played MP on Xbox Live knows the following is true: Teenagers, plus anonymity, plus microphone = idiot. Xbox Live already gives you powerful tools to mute, well, tools on a case by case basis. The “A-Hole Button” in Halo 3 lets you exact instant, silent vengeance. These kind of vocal buttmunches, as it turns out, are exactly as fun to play against as normal people, as long as you can’t hear them. So now, you simply press a button (back button, for the moment anyway) and up comes the score list with everyone’s tag on it. The right stick lets you highlight the miscreant and you can then instantly mute them for the rest of the game.
Does this give you some sweet satisfaction? It does for me. I cannot wait to mute those little bastards.

Word. The horribly annoying people were what finally drove me away from xbox live entirely. Maybe I'll come back.
Thankyou Bungie!
That is the finest picture of the Chief I've ever seen :-D
Sweet! This may get me to come back to Xbox Live.
This feature is redundant. The Xbox 360 already has a feature to mute players across ALL games. Here's how:
Mute a Player
If you're playing with someone who is bugging you—maybe they've got an annoying Pee-Wee Herman type voice or the taunting is getting a bit out of hand—you have the option of muting them. Muting shuts off all voice communication with that player. You won't be able to hear them OR speak to them. They will not know they've been muted, and they'll stay muted until you turn their voice back on. Here's how to shut someone up:
1. Select the player you want to mute in the Players list.
2. Press the A button.
3. Select Voice:Off.
OK, so you're over it, and you want to resume communicating with this formerly obnoxious player. Here's how to turn their voice back on:
1. Select the player in the Players list.
2. Press A.
3. Change the Voice:Off option to Voice:On.
Thanks, Nukie. I didn't see your post here until after I had written my article on this process from Major Nelson. I just wanted to say that Halo 3 will simplify that process...in other words, reduce the chance that the player will get fragged while trying to do it the 'old fashioned way.'
