A Little More Sadness

The Polish developer Nibris has been tight-lipped about releasing information concerning their survival-horror tale for the Wii, Sadness. So far we know the game is done in the “Victorian Noir” style, so affectionately dubbed by our own Fruit Brute in a previous article. The game takes place in the Ukraine pre-WWI. Enemies are taken from the Slavic cannon of creatures such as werewolves, vampires and such. There will be no on-screen heads up display, to heighten player immersion.
Nibris recently released a few more tidbits of info about the story. Players will control Maria, who survived a horrific train accident. Her younger sibling, Alexander was blinded in the wreck. In the aftermath, he begins to act quite strangely. The duo must use their environment to survive the obstacles ahead.
That’s not much to go on, but we will be following this game closely in the next few months. There is nothing quite like a strong female lead in Victorian drag to cut to the heart of a gay gamer. Heavens to Murgatroid!
