300 For PSP Exposed

The film 300 is right around the corner, and I couldn’t be more stoked. Give me some muscle bound beefcake Spartans in leather thongs thrusting their spears around the battlefield and you have my money, guaranteed. Now the PSP is getting the exclusive rights to the game 300: March to Glory, score Sony! I’m surprised that the game is going be exclusive to the PSP, since the movie looks pretty high profile and the game could be released on just about every system out there. Since it is exclusive to PSP, the whole title looks like it was designed with the PSP in mind from the fixed camera system to the widescreen presentation.

The filmmakers provided the game developers with many assets to work with from the original score to various textures and film footage. Check out the interview with Associate Producer Jeff Nachbaur of 300: March to Glory. He goes into details about the choice to use a fixed camera system to the innovative phalanx combat gameplay.

Wow, looks shitacular.

I'm sorry but that was a terrible interview. "Each item you see was sculpted".

Of course it was. If the animators didn't model it you wouldn't be able to see it in the game, jackass.

The Phalanx mechanic feels more worthy of a flash game.

But they really lost me when they showed a panel from the comic (juxtaposed against a screenshot from the movie) and this tool referred to it as a 'storyboard'. It's like nobody wants to discuss that this movie came from a comic.

That's just my bitter little opinion however. :)

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
