Super Paper Mario Is Right Around The Corner

For some time now, images and videos have been seeping out showcasing the next step in the Paper Mario series. Originating on the GameCube, the fate of Super Paper Mario was signed when the Wii was announced, oh so long ago. We should expect the title to hit shelves in April, and from the look of it so far, it should be pretty excellent.
The previous games were a delight. The presentation for Paper Mario is utterly charming. While there were inconsistencies in gameplay and general pacing, the overall experience was one of a kind.
Super Paper Mario will adopt the side-style method of holding the Wiimote, where you use the directional pad to control and the “2” button for jumping and the “A” button to switch from 2D to 3D visuals. The dimensional switching is a gameplay technique which is new to the series, allowing players to view the game as a side scroller, or 3D tunnel perspective.
As a fan of the previous two iterations of the game, along with the spiritual sisters Super Mario RPG and The Mario and Luigi games, this one looks like it is shaping up beautifully. If they can iron out the pace of the character leveling, and offer enough side quests to complete the game and come back for more, I will be one happy paisanno.

GLH WANT NOW!
Gimme gimme gimme some paper Mario, that looks fantastic. The idea swooping back and forth between 3D and 2D is...
Well, I make games. I'm jealous.
Man i was just starting to worry that this game was never gonna see the light of day.
So glad to see it's coming out - was one of my most-anticipated Gamecube titles, and it looks to be even more fun on the Wii!
I'm really looking forward to this game, but I've got to say that I'm a little anxious at the reports that it's become more of a platformer and less of an RPG than the previous Paper Mario iterations.
PM:TYD was a brilliant RPG and probably one of the best on the GCN. I'm sure this'll still be a brilliant game, but I hope it retains enough of the Paper-Mario'ness of it's GCN sister.
That screen shot makes me tingle...
I actually preordered Paper Mario 2, not realizing that the series was a turn-based RPG series, and was really disappointed. I hope all remnants of the turn-based thing are gone from this one....
I don't mind leveling up or needing to hit enemies multiple times to kill them, but Mario games need to be about jumping on critters' heads in my opinion, and not about listening to that damn battle music about 200 times an hour.
Do we know yet what the purpose of the Butterfly is? I'm dreading that they've stuck Mario with a Navi.
Oh gods WHY! Why do you torture ME! It's like every passing day I hear about some new game coming to the Wii that I MUST HAVE... Oh I have got to get my hands on one of those white boxes of JOY!
