Oh, snap!

Microsoft's Peter Moore just ignited another round of PR Jousting between his parent corporation and Sony. Apparently, in the middle of an IGN interview, Moore was asked his opinion of the PS3 in comparison the 360. Now, admittedly, this is a pretty loaded question that I can't really foresee a graceful escape from, and Moore didn't really pull any punches with his answer:
"I look at the games and I feel really good at where we stand from a portfolio point of view. The online service, they're still trying to get it up to speed and there's nothing really there that I can really point to that I wish we had."You know, certainly the price point of the PS3 isn't something that I want to emulate. It's very difficult for me to point to anything there that I think we're missing right now," he concluded.
Well, the lull in the name-calling was peacefully pleasant while it lasted. I guess it's time for... what? Round 2? 3? 27?
PS3 has no advantages over 360, says Moore [GamesIndustry.biz]

He's kind of right though. Right at this moment, there is really nothing the PS3 has that the 360 doesn't (save for a PS2 library, but hey, just keep your PS2). That may change in a couple of years when developers finally push the Cell beyond the 360's capabilities. But right now, the PS3 just doesn't have much to justify that extra couple hundred dollars.
IAWTC. Moore is right: the 360 is pretty much what the PS3 is aiming for in terms of gaming library and online services.
PS3 is dead. It will take a hand full of really good games to jump start that over priced brick. I'm certainly enjoying my 360 and Wii enough to keep me from needing to buy one. He's 100% on the ball with his comments and he certainly has the right to say them.
Right or not, I wish he didn't come off as such a prick all the time :P
moore is - at best - a lying slimeball. he shows up to press-conferences with fake tattoos. believe him at your peril.
