GameSpot Editor-In-Chief Departs

Say what you will about GameSpot, but it’s always been there for me when I needed it. As a major pillar of gaming news and gaming enthusiasm on the Big Boy internet, GameSpot’s listings, reviews, guides and general CNet-plugged-in-everywhere-ness has been a solid set of gaming resources to turn to when all else fails (and a blogger wants a source to point to for some semblance of reliability).
Soon-to-be-former-editor-in-chief Greg Kasavin helped make GameSpot what it is, and so the news that he’s leaving the company to become a “gamemaker” at “one of his favorite franchises” is both bittersweet and curious.
The folks at Aeropause speculate that because Kasavin is a big fan of The Elder Scrolls and Metal Gear Solid franchises, perhaps he’s headed to Bethesda or Konami/Kojima, but the bottom line is: sweet deal, dude. I’m sure we’ll hear the details eventually.
