Warning to Pro Gamers: Put Down The Pipe

Just Say No

The Cyberathlete Professional League will now be testing their gamers for drugs before competitions. They are looking for performance enhancing drugs like amphetamines such as speed or crystal meth.

Munoz commented:

“The potential for drugs being an issue absolutely concerns me. It should concern anybody in eSports, because as the stakes get larger, as in any sport, people will look for an edge.”

Any gamers entering CPL competitions in ‘07 will be forced to take drug tests to compete. They want to level the playing field, as in any sport.

It’s really only fair to the other players. You don’t want some spazzy crackhead scoring headshot after headshot, because he can finally see the Matrix on crack.

wow, how retarded. Yah, we all know how meth, crack, and pot make for a clear head. Nice to see the gaming industries jumping onto the police state, invade your personal life bandwagon while making an excuse for doing it!

Translation: Stoners relax. As far as pot clearing your head? I give credit where it’s due, such as completing Marble Blast Ultra 200/200.

Caffeine doesn’t count either, as the article mentions, so keep watching the Red Bull, Mountain Dew and NoDoz flow.

That’s a very good idea, after all, nobody wants a teammate that spent his prep time trying to pry the “bugs” out of his flesh.

The bad thing, though, is that when they find them, they will send them to minnesota because they can’t handle their own problems.

I’m sorry, I’m still trying to digest the concept of “professional gamers,” let alone “professional crackhead gamers.” I’ve been working on the first one for about three years…maybe the job would go faster if I went back to doing all that crack?

Crack? Really?

Since when did Hardcore gamers afford drugs? XD

This is retarded. It just opens the gateway to testing for pot. Yes, I know they say “performance enhancing drugs” but we’ve seen how other athletic bodies have declared pot as performance enhancing (Robin Williams has a hilarious take on this in his stand-up dvd).

Why alienate potheads? Let’s face it, pot made gaming what it is. If they start testing for pot, that’ll disqualify the vast majority of professional gamers.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
