PSP Blog Site The New LonelyGirl?

Viral marketing is all the rage these days and with the recent discovery of the whole LonelyGirl15 scandal, internet users are taking a closer look at where the blogs they read are actually coming from.

Recently, a blog site went up with accompanying YouTube videos called All I want for Christmas is a PSP. Done in the typical minimalist “Regular Joe” blog style, it features the ramblings of a guy who wants nothing more than a PSP under his tree this year. The language is a bit laughable, almost “too hip.” The graphics are obviously trying to go for that “I did this myself real quick at home” look, yet they still look just a little too well put together. Further investigation into the subject by some intrepid fans revealed that the owner of this particular domain was actually an ad agency.

Is All I want for Christmas is a PSP just another lame attempt by some corporate suits to get us to buy their product by nefarious means? Take a look and see what you think.

Since Sony is the company who created fake “graffiti” as an advertising campaign for the PSP, I have no doubt that this is a similar ruse. Pathetic.

Definitely smacks of false hipness. How tragically lame.
