Final Fantasy Tactics Targets PSP And DS/GBA
Well wipe my chin and call me Drooly, my turn-based strategy RPG chubby just got considerably chubbier. One pass through the cathedral halls of Aeropause and I’m two hypothetical Final Fantasy games the richer. Firstly, French Magazine Interactif de Jeux Video, JeuxFrance.com (how much cooler does “gaming blog” sound in French?), brings us le bon mot that Square Enix is hard at work on a beefed-up remake/port thingy of the original Final Fantasy Tactics – it’s headed to the PSP and will be called either Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion War or Final Fantasy Tactics: Shishi Sensou depending on which language you don’t speak or which site you’re reading. Japanese rag Shonen Jump provides the tip, once again proving that it’s the coolest magazine I’ll never be able to read.
FFT on the PSP? Yes, please. I won’t die happy until there’s some kind of Disgaea presence on the PSP, but this is not only good news to tide me over, it might be even cooler…
And of course there’s the second game: Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2: The Sealed Black Book. I don’t suppose it’d be much fun if the book were chartreuse and wide open (hot pants joke here?), but either way I’m beyond excited for more grid-hopping, job-swapping, micromanagerial fun. This also from the pages of Shonen Jump, which indicates that the game is coming to a Nintendo handheld sometime in the future, but doesn’t specify whether that’s the GBA or the DS.
DS, please! Right?

well, you’ll be able to die soon. Nippon ichi usually ports their games to the US eventually and disgaea was recently brought to psp in japan

Yeah Disgaea is on the PSP. Since Tactics is my favorite FF, it is my duty to rebuy it on my PSP.
we deserve a TRUE sequal to FFT rather than the rather mediocre FFTA.
if FFT for PSP comes out over here, I demand a proper re-translation.
thank you fillerbunny9, FFTA WAS rather mediocre. i was thoroughly disappointed, although it looked pretty. but i love both announcements. i’m sure “the lion war” will be re translated (how could it not), but i’m especially excited for “the sealed grimoire” or whatever it ends up being called, especially if its on my shiny DS.
