A Wii For Every Season & A Price Cut?
Measuring the tensile strength of now-replaced straps and recalling several hundred thousand Japanese DS plugs isn’t all Nintendo has up their sleeve, according to one loose-lipped Toys ‘R Us manager who seeded the information rumorhighway with this entirely plausible set of speculations. Now, colored consoles (resist Caucasian guilt, Tiny, it’s just a console) are no new idea, not even for the Wii – why, the picture to my right is, like, at least a decade old already. We always knew we’d get them, sooner or later, or at least hoped so.
“Sooner” might be the answer, if the aforementioned slip has any credibility: Nintendo is suggested to be planning a “relaunch” of the Wii in Spring 2007 that will see the price drop to $200 and a bouquet of colors become suddenly available. Is it possible? I don’t see why not. Is it a reason to sit quietly and wait for a chartreuse Wii to tiptoe into your living room and plug itself ever-so-politely into your television? Probably not. But that’s not the point.
Somebody, somewhere, decided to make, plan to make, or at least draw up a graphic of a Wii that comes in chartreuse, people. That’s the point.

Can we get a rainbow Wii? That’d be hot. Or a rhinestone one???
I want the green one!! Also, it was a TRU manager… how reputable can that be? Let’s see what Japan gets in the way of Wii color choices (a la DS Lites) before we get TOO excited.

Argh! I wanted the chartreuse one! If it actually comes to the states AND is cheaper than the white one I all ready purchased…I will NOT be happy with Nintendo. I mean I love my Wii, but still…/pout
Why are they going to lower the price so quickly?
I’d like the black one! But it isn’t worth it to get another color when the white one is perfect fine. :D
